EVENT DETAILS & LOOKING AHEAD

• The Woodland Park Chorus will have a special practice on Wednesday, May 22, at 6:00 PM.
• Bible Bowl: The Bible Bowl Team is pleased to report that 34 scholars have signed up! Of course, we have room for more! The sign-up sheet will be in the foyer until Wednesday, May 29.

Parents, if you have a young person who has signed up for Bible Bowl, we need your Guidelines Commitment form signed and returned. So far, 12 of the 25 families who have scholars signed up have returned the form. Please see Bro. Larry Shearry for a Cost sheet, a Schedule sheet and a Commitment form!

Senior Bible Bowl Scholars, you have an opportunity this year to help prepare the Study Resources Questions. You will receive instruction on how to make good questions. This will help you to think like a question maker which will give you an edge as you read and study the text. The Study Resources Party will be held June 2. If you are interested, please sign up. The sign-up sheet is in the foyer.

• Attention ALL girls interested in volunteering for various community service projects for the coming months: There will be a meeting for the girls and parents on Wednesday, May 22, at 6:00 PM. Please plan to attend, as important information will be shared. Thank you in advance. Sisters Jill Pitts, Mary Brown and Allison Hillary.
• The West Zone will have its monthly meeting on Thursday evening, May 30, at 6:00 PM. Bro. Carl Knight, Zone Captain.
• The Widowed Ministry will have its annual Grief Seminar on Saturday, June 8, 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM at the church. The topic will be "Dealing with Loss after Sudden, Traumatic, or Violent Death". The speaker will be Dr. Judith A. Harrington, Ph.D., LPC, LMFT, Counseling, Therapy, Consultation and Clinical Training. Sign-up sheets are on the table by the multipurpose room. You may contact Sis. • Woodland Park 2013 Summer Getaway is July 15-18 at Busch Gardens/Adventure Island in Tampa, FL. Prices are: 1 person per room $385.00; 2 persons per room $243.00; 3 persons per room $195.00; and 4 persons per room $172.00. Prices include hotel accommodations for 3 nights and transportation. • Looking ahead to the Holidays: The Areawide Ladies Bible Class has confirmed the date, place and price for the 2013 Love Feast. It will be held December 7, 2013 at 12:00 Noon at the Harbert Center. The cost will be $35.00 for adults and $20.00 for children 12 years of age and under. Payment plans are available. See Sis. Harriette Littleton to make payments and if you have any questions.

• "Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you. Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened." Matthew 7:6-8.

• Bro. Leo Looney will have office hours at the church Monday - Thursday of each week in order to further the evangelistic efforts of the congregation. He will be available to schedule/teach Bible classes; provide spiritual support and encouragement (restoration of unfaithful members, spiritual counseling); and other spiritual duties as needed. Bro. Looney's office hours will be on his voice mail each week (251-3055), since his hours may vary. Your call will be returned at his earliest convenience.

• The Church Bus will run every Sunday. It will also run on the 3rd and 4th Wednesdays. It will not run on the 1st and 2nd Wednesdays of the month. Contact your zone leader if you need a ride. In addition, if you are a regularly scheduled rider and you do not need pick up on a particular Sunday or Wednesday, please contact the driver the day before (Tuesday or Saturday) so that they do not make an unnecessary trip to pick you up. If you have any questions and concerns, please feel free to contact Bro. Leo Looney, Deacon (Van Ministry).
• The Church Bus will continue to pick up those who park down the hill due to the church parking lot being full. This will be done on an "as needed" basis each Sunday from 9:45 AM - 10:20 AM. The pickup spots are Heritage Lane and in the parking lot on the corner of the School of Cosmetology building.

• HOMEBOUND WORSHIP MINISTRY - If you have a loved one or know of someone who is homebound and they desire the Lord's supper, please contact the appropriate zone leader or a member of our leadership. Be sure to provide at least a 48-hour notice.

• Change of Address or Contact Information: Woodland Park Members In the event information about you changes (such as a change of address or telephone number, etc.), please submit that information to Sis. Dorothy Davis or Sis. Winnie White. You may contact Sis. Dorothy Davis, Sis. Winnie White or any member of the leadership to get the proper form to submit your new contact information or if you have any questions.

• Note: To all members planning activities for the congregation.... Please check the church calendar for any desired date availability PRIOR TO making announcements of your event or activities to be held at the church building. Checking the church calendar will secure your desired date. Please see Sis. Winnie White regarding the church calendar.

• BULLETIN ANNOUNCEMENTS - Anyone having announcements or inserts for the weekly bulletin should submit them in writing to Sis. Winnie White by noon on Thursday of each week. You may also email the information to Sis. White at winnie.white@woodlandparkcoc.com. All information to be included in the weekly bulletin MUST BE approved by the Leadership.

• CD's of our weekly sermons are available upon request following each service. They are free of charge to visitors and $2 each for members.
